“If my experience with Stephanie was a self-titled book it would be called: “How I defeated my Girl Brain and started eating Sweet Potatoes”. Working with Stephanie has been, in many ways, life changing and liberating. For my entire life I have been told to avoid ‘fats’ (of any kind), stay away from starches like potatoes (yes, even the “sweet” ones), rice and oats, and eating chicken with skin-on and bone-in is a big no-no. While our plan was to deconstruct my girl brain and learn about whole foods, I was not prepared for the stealth-like ninja attack we were doing on my relationship with myself and the foods I ate. From adding new foods I was originally scared of, discovering Paleo and food budgets, this has been such an exciting and liberating experience.
